Prologue:

On my first visit to Dublin I was excited at the prospect of trying Aer Lingus for the first time on the return from DUB-LHR. A first experience with any airline is always a cherished event for an aviation geek and my trip with them coincided with the introduction of a new rebranded image for the carrier.

EI is an interesting carrier that was part of Oneworld from Dec. 1999 - Mar 2007. Presently it is owned by IAG Group - the parent company of BA and IB. It has no immediate plans to become a Oneworld member yet and it is interesting to note that this airline does not offer a J cabin on its intra-European network but offers it only on its transatlantic flights.
En mi primera visita a Dublín, me entusiasmó la posibilidad de probar Aer Lingus por primera vez al regresar de DUB-LHR. Una primera experiencia con cualquier aerolínea siempre es un evento preciado para un geek de la aviación y mi viaje con ellos coincidió con la introducción de una nueva imagen de la aerolínea.

EI es un operador interesante que formó parte de Oneworld desde diciembre de 1999 hasta marzo de 2007. Actualmente es propiedad de IAG Group, la empresa matriz de BA e IB. Aún no tiene planes inmediatos para convertirse en miembro de Oneworld y es interesante observar que esta aerolínea no ofrece una cabina J en su red intraeuropea, sino que la ofrece solamente en sus vuelos transatlánticos.
