Hello and welcome to this exciting trip that I took in 2015 which features my first flight on Finnair's new A350 aircraft and BA Galleries F Lounge @ LHR T3.

I arrived in LHR on a cold and rainy day and couldn't wait to get to the Oneworld lounges at T3. The connecting bus from T5 to T3 was swift and security was painless. For the sake of efficiency I will just cover the BA F lounge Since I was Oneworld Emerald at the time, I had access to the first class lounges. I personally believe that the best F lounge in T3 is CX and if you have the status you should visit this location..
Hola y bienvenidos a este emocionante viaje que realicé en 2015 el cual contiene mi primer vuelo en el nuevo avión A350 de Finnair y una visita al salón Galerías de Primera Clase de BA @ LHR T3.

Llegué a LHR en un día frío y lluvioso y no podía esperar para llegar a las salas de Oneworld en la T3. El bus de conexión de T5 a T3 fue rápido y el paso por seguridad fue un proceso sin contratiempos.. Por razones de eficiencia solo cubriré el salón BA F, En aquel tiempo era Oneworld Emerald y tenía acceso a los salones de primera clase. Personalmente creo que el mejor salón F en T3 es CX y si tienes el status deberias visitar esta sala...

Summary:

It was a great experience flying AY's new A350 which is a very comfortable and quiet airplane. The seats in J strike the right balance between privacy and comfort and the 1-2-1 cabin layout ensures that everyone has direct aisle access.

The plane still had that faint new airplane smell and one thing I noticed was the lack of overhead bins for the center rows. This gave the cabin a very spacious feel but I wonder if the airline sacrificed practicality for aesthetics in this case. If this was a full cabin, would the overhead bins on the sides have enough room to accommodate all the carry-on luggage for the J cabin? I must warn you that if you are seating in row 8, the overhead bin right above you is used to store cabin's equipment and blankets, so I ended up placing my stuff in the bin above row 7.

The J cabin is divided into 2 sections with seats 1-8 in the front cabin and 9-12 in the second one which seemed more private. On my flight there was a group of Finnish passengers that boarded at the last minute and seemed to know the crew. I assume that they were AY's employees on a familiarization trip. Later when I walked into the second cabin, it was practically empty. I noticed that the second J cabin has overhead bins for the center rows contrary to the one in the front.

AY offers a decent inflight service with a Nordic touch that is courteous and professional. The catering can be a bit basic but so far I have only flown them on European routes and my experience is very limited. I feel that not having a choice of meals when flying J is quite disappointing.

The entertainment system seems to offer a good selection of programs, but the control settings are not the most straight forward to use at times.
Fue una gran experiencia viajar en el nuevo A350 de AY, que es un avión muy cómodo y silencioso. Los asientos en J logran el equilibrio correcto entre privacidad y comodidad, y el diseño de la cabina 1-2-1 garantiza que todos tengan acceso directo al pasillo.

El avión aún tenía ese ligero olor a avión nuevo y una cosa que noté fue la falta de compartimientos superiores para equipajes encima de las filas centrales. Esto le dio a la cabina una sensación muy espaciosa, pero me pregunto si la aerolínea sacrificó la practicidad por la estética en este caso. Si se tratara de una cabina llena, ¿tendrían los contenedores superiores a los lados espacio suficiente para almacenar todo el equipaje de mano para la cabina J? Debo advertirte que si estás sentado en la fila 8, el compartimento superior justo encima de ti se utiliza para guardar el equipo y las mantas de la cabina, por lo que terminé colocando mis cosas en el compartimiento sobre la fila 7.

La cabina J se divide en 2 secciones con asientos 1-8 en la cabina delantera y 9-12 en la segunda, que parecía más privada. En mi vuelo había un grupo de pasajeros finlandeses que abordaron al último minuto y parecían conocer a la tripulación. Supongo que eran empleados de AY en un viaje de familiarización. Más tarde, cuando entré en la segunda cabina, estaba prácticamente vacía. Noté que la segunda cabina J tiene compartimientos superiores para las filas del centro, contrariamente a la del frente.

AY ofrece un servicio de vuelo decente con un toque Nórdico que es cortés y profesional. El catering puede ser un poco básico, pero hasta ahora solo los he volado en rutas europeas y mi experiencia es muy limitada. El hecho de que no exista una opción de comidas cuando uno viaja en cabina J es bastante decepcionante.

El sistema de entretenimiento parece ofrecer una buena selección de programas, pero las configuraciones de control no son las más sencillas de usar a veces.
