Prologue:

Hello and welcome to this return portion of my trip from TLS - FRA.

I spent a wonderful vacation in TLS and BDX in the company of my friend and now I'm flying back home via FRA again. It seems that LH offers the best connections into TLS with up to 3x daily flights. I was told this is because of the Airbus relationship between the two countries which makes sense.

We arrived at the airport by around 08:00+ and there was already a line at the Y counter.

Thankfully I have *A Gold status and used this line instead. ;)

Security was swift and straightforward and soon I was on my way to the gate.

But first everyone that clears security need to pass through the Duty Free shop. Captive audience I guess.

TLS is a modern and pretty easy to navigate airport.

To the gate.

We boarded a little after 30 min. before departure. Priority was given to elderly and pax who requested special assistance.

Plane at the gate. No the wings are not that long. It's a light effect. :P

We were waiting at the gate until the pax with special needs aboard found their seats.

My seat 5A.

I'm on the second row in Y.

Upon boarding the FA handed out a sanitizing wipe to each pax.

Leg room was not bad.

Thankfully I did not have any neighbor and enjoyed an intra-European J seat experience.

Safety instructions. I wonder why LH doesn't play a video on this aircraft.

Taxiing.

Take off. My friend told me to sit on the left side for views of TLS after dept. but the cloudy skies did not allow for any views. Next time.

Reaching cruising altitude.

LH has implemented a B.O.B. program on intra-European Y. The only thing you get for free are a bottle of water and a piece of chocolate upon arrival.

At least you get water.

I decided to try the B.O.B. and order a Pastrami sandwich for EUR 5.50 - Not too bad.

It was a good size sandwich. A comparable one from a US carrier on domestic flight would have been around USD 10.

I think I can see the Opera House.

I believe all TLS flights are parked remotely and pax need to take the bus to the terminal.

Summary:

A good and smooth flight on LH. I thought that the free sandwiches that LH used to offer for free before were decent and was disappointed to see B.O.B. being implemented for intra-European flights. If you don't have status I think there is not much difference between LH or a low cost carrier if you are going from point A to B inside Europe.

The B.O.B. is offered under the pretext that it gives pax more choices according to their tastes. It's a great marketing line but in reality it is just another revenue generating scheme. At least the prices are not obscene like you see in the USA. The sandwich that I had was tasty and a decent value in my opinion.

It's a shame that LH moved into the BoB concept. Yep, as you pointed out if you don't have a status not worth going after a legacy carrier.

No lounge in TLS but I was able to access the SEN lounges in FRA. ;) Fireworks always cheer people up.

Yes I can't complain. I had a fantastic view upon landing.
It was a magnificent prelude for all the things that would come.
I am already used to this routine with LH.

TLS is a beautiful city.

It was a privilege and pleasure to spend time with you. We enjoyed every second of it. ;)
