Prologue:

Hello and welcome to the last segment of my return on Jetblue.

I really want to like B6 but for some reason I've had issues whenever I take their flights. The last time that I flew them from LAS-SFO a few years ago my flight was diverted to OAK and pax had to be accommodated in a taxi from OAK-SFO.

Fast forward to the present and on today's flight I am experiencing a delay of about 1 hr. Thankfully the delay was not extended and we even managed to leave a few minutes earlier.

Upon arrival into LAX I headed to the Admirals Club. AA has 2 of them at LAX - one in T4 and the other at T5 which used to be a DL Skyclub some time ago.

Unfortunately AA's Flagship lounge @ LAX has not re-opened so I had to settle for the regular Admirals Club. The big one at T4 was closed due to a plumbing issue so pax were referred to the one at T5. This worked out for me since my Jetblue flight would leave from this terminal.

Reception desk. I find that some AA agents are not very knowledgeable about lounge access for transcon pax on a premium cabin. Technically we are supposed to receive access on arrival as well but on AA's website this is not clear and only states departing flights. I had 2 agents ask their co-workers about this.

There is a rotunda in the middle of the lounge.

This is a bit anticlimactic having just visited the Flagship lounge in MIA. The buffet looks like it's back to normal with the usual offerings before covid.

There were 2 types of soups offered - kale minestrone type and a broccoli cheddar one. I tried both and liked the last one better.

Going to my gate.

The agent at the gate was very professional despite the delay. Soon boarding started and the agents were very strict when it came to group boarding checking each pax boarding pass before they were scanned.

At first the screen was showing our 19:50 dept delayed to 20:50. Now it was showing 20:22. We ended up departing at 20:41.

Friendly welcome aboard. One thing I noticed is that there was no distribution of sanitizing wipes. Nothing during boarding or after.

At one point a pax asked me if I could switch to his aisle seat in 21D. Apparently the trio was separated. Since this was an aisle for an aisle change I accepted.

Take off.

After we leveled off service started. There were 4 FA's aboard and B6 service is a bit different from others. Each FA had a cart and they were in the aisle at the same time offering beverages. I think this seemed more efficient since there was a better coverage of all the cabin during drink service.

photo 640x640 3

I asked for a tea and this is another way that B6 does things differently. The FA was very polite and she handed me my cup of tea with a cover placed on top. Never seen this on any other airline before.

There were about 3 kinds of snacks offered. Popcorn chips cookies and some type of nut bar candy.

photo 640x640 3

I had the sweet and salty (Kettle) popcorn chips.

photo 640x640 3

There were 2 WC's in the back but I was surprised that they were part of the galley in the back.

Space inside the WC was tight and resembled a closet. Never seen a WC configured like this.

Summary:

Jetblue has a good reputation among many travelers and their service has always gathered praise from the industry. Unfortunately my previous experiences with them has been marked by delays and irregular operations. Having said that I found their crew both in the air and on the ground to be professional and cordial.

Aboard the IFE system looks varied and B6 is the only carrier to offer fast and free wifi to all pax. I think that their Y seats are some of the roomiest in the industry.
