Prologue:

Welcome to the final segment of my trip on AF.

After a great stay in Toulouse and Paris it was time to return back home. Fortunately I am well accompanied by Francis and thanks to him my flight became more enjoyable since he PLT with Flying Blue.

We stayed the night before at the Holiday Inn Express CDG and left the hotel early the next morning.

Even in the early hours of the morning, CDG was busy with pax and activity.

CDGVal.

AF Skypriority counters.

Bags were dispatched quickly.

Time to clear Immigration.

The line is long but it starts to move.

On the train to the M Hall.

Here we are.

Entrance.

The lounge is spacious and well appointed.

Counters.

Spa.

Rest area. A bit exposed for my taste.

The "Ulti" corner. Not for me I'm just a plebeian. :P

Buffet.

The catering is generous for breakfast considering that the typical choice in France is a coffee and 1 or 2 pastries.

We leave the lounge and head to gate M46.

Welcome!

AF still provides proper pillows and blankets in Y.

Distribution of sanitary kits.

The purser welcomes us aboard and offers amenity kits from J.

Champagne to start the meal. AF is an egalitarian company.

We were served PEY meals. The foie gras and chicken stew were delicious.

Snacks after the meal service.

Not a lot of airlines serve sandwiches.

WC's were kept clean.

The meal before arrival is now a bag with a hot sandwich and package snacks. It used to be a cold meal years ago.

Once again the purser bid us farewell and thanked us for flying AF. A nice touch. We arrived 6 min. late.

Summary:

AF still provides a very decent service in Y with champagne, delicious meals and proper pillows/blankets. It's too bad that they no longer distribute menus which was a nice touch that set them apart.

The lounge at the M Hall was a nice and spacious place to relax before the flight. The catering was very correct.

What a great report my friend, Francis is living is fullest moments Wirth AF/FB, I'm glad you could fly with him, any update on the refund/voucher from your "ghosted" return ?
I have never seen the M terminal yet, hopefully soon.

Yes, he's making the most of it by traveling a lot within these few months. He must have an avgeek "guardian angel" looking after him. ;)

Well, here's what happened with my cancelled return on AF. I was unable to fly on the day of dept. and told the agent at the SFO airport about it. She advised me to call reservation and handle it from that end. I dreaded waiting in line forever since I have heard horror stories about the calls on hold.

So I decided to call the Spanish line for AF. In a couple of minutes I was connected to an agent in Colombia and she took care of all the details for my cancellation. She advised me that they will send this to the refund dept. to calculate the amount. A few weeks later I got an email from AF and I was given a credit for $200. Now I'm forced to fly AF again. ;)

En fait AF propose un très bon produit et bien sûr que je le reprendrai surtout maintenant que j'ai un crédit. :)

Salut Adan!

Une belle prestation avec ce vol LC vers SFO en bonne compagnie.
Salon que je n'ai jamais visité mais qui a l'air agréable.
A bord de petites attentions qui font toute la différence et un repas W qui faut le job.

C'est bien d'avoir le regard d'un passager qui découvre AF.

Le salon du hall M semble très agréable et avec une offre complète pour le petit-déjeuner.

A bord, un vol agréable avec un équipage sympathique.
Dommage d'avoir le sac en seconde prestation sur des vols aussi longs.

Je pense que ce salon est l'un des meilleurs de AF.

Chaque cie a réduit ses coûts donc ce n'est pas une surprise de voir le sac. Au moins le sandwich était chaud.
