Prologue:

Welcome to this report on Aegean which is probably the best European J class at the moment.

We took the tram from the center of Toulouse to the airport and arrived with plenty of time.

Check in took a bit of time because there was an issue with the printer. This was soon sorted out.

The agent was friendly and checked us in.

Fast track. It's always a joy to use TLS with its professional staff.

Duty Free.

Professional welcome at the lounge.

Snacks consisted mostly of packaged goods. At certain times sandwiches are brought out.

On the way to the gate.

We were the first ones to board. However down the jetbridge there was a slight hold.

Warm welcome by the crew who distributed sanitary wipes.

The J cabin consisting of 2 rows.

Middle seat blocked.

Literature in seat pocket. The magazine is really thick.

Pre-dept drinks consisting of water orange juice or champagne in glasses.

Distribution of printed menus.

Cheers!

Preparing cabin for dept.

Some spotting.

Bye TLS.

Once we reached cruising altitude the curtains were closed.

Meal service.

Tray mat.

Beef with mashed aubergine.

Some strong Greek cheeses with tahini dessert.

The meal was superb with fresh ingredients and flavor.

Chicken dish in mustard sauce.

Mountain tea.

Crew offered milk and dark chocolates from a tray.

FA was excellent making sure drinks were filled and checking on pax. She automatically offered me water without asking.

WC.

Landing.

We used the bus to the terminal. A crew member positioned herself between J and Y to allow all J pax to disembark first. There was a bus dedicated to 8 pax in J.

Summary:

I flew Aegean a few years ago in J and was impressed with this airline. I'm glad to see that A3 has not changed and that it did not succumb to the major cost savings by other airlines.

The flight was absolutely delightful with attentive crew who always smiled and were proactive in service. As a matter of fact I have nicknamed A3 the "SQ" of Europe. What's not to like - well groomed crew, charming attitude, delicious meals and a safe trip.

I look forward to my future trips on this airline.

Indeed they do. Many consider TK to be the best in Europe too but I find that the service on A3 is more consistent.

It's a good reminder that it boils down to the airline's will to provide a phenomenal service and meal. I agree with you Amigo.
A3 is underrated yet knocks out most of the competition aside from TK.

Hola amigo. A3 is a regional carrier and is not as big as TK but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Honestly, I am very surprised by what A3 offers on this MC flight in Europe...
I experienced a similar or even better service with a 2 or even 3 time service between PRG and CDG with smartwings, you should try it!
TLS has changed a lot since my last visit.

Sure A3 is the best Schengen airlines thoug with arather small red (destinations and frequencies).

Salut,

I think A3 is not the best of Europe. TK ans SU are on the top for me.
So I love this airline, I took many time to go to Cairo from Marseille.
Yes service is wonderfull.
But into the airport, A3 Lounge are small and full all the time. I did not apreciate that.

Hi Serge,

I have tried both A3 and TK and I would say that both are about the same high level when it comes to catering. However as mentioned before I think the service on A3 is more consistent. As for SU I have not had a chance to try them so I can't comment on that. Hopefully I can try in the future.

You are right about the A3 lounge at ATH and it can get full quickly. Food can also be improved with more hot choices. Hopefully with the new lounge in the extra-Schengen terminal things are better.
