Prologue:

This is the first leg of my return to SFO in J. I redeemed 57.500 miles for this ticket which I thought was an excellent value considering that all other options were over 100.000+ miles. The only negative was the early departure at an ungodly hour but this is a small price to pay when you think about it.

I was dropped off at the airport by our Vendredi13 and his brother and after bidding good bye I entered the terminal on my way to the AF counter. When I was checking in at the AF Priority counter there was a huge line that day and I was getting nervous. On top of that the agent couldn't issue me my connecting boarding card from CDG-SFO because of a technical glitch that was later resolved by inputting my mobile number in a field. Is flying AF always this stressful? I made sure that all information was already in place and I was "Ready2Fly"

Needless to say no pics of the counter or airport before dept. so I jumped straight to the flight.

FA's were positioned at the door greeting pax as they entered. There was a 22 min. delay in dept. and the pilot explained that this was due to an air traffic controller strike. Later I found out that the AF ground crew also joined to show "solidarity" at CDG. That's when my checked bag went missing and did not turn out until 2 weeks after I arrived in SFO.

Summary:

Despite the delay and the snafu at check-in the rest of the flight was smooth. For a J cabin I think AF should offer something more than just vending machine "snack". If A3 can provide a decent meal on their short flights within Greece why can't AF do the same?

    Time for a real BF or at least in Business, a croissant or a pain au chocolat, it should not be hard for god sake! Aren't we in France flying AF ?

    Hello Panda,

    A domestic flight that does the job and allows you to get to CDG.
    No lounge at TLS???
    Business class on domestic flight needs to be improved, the meal offer is very poor...

    Hi Seb,

    I am familiar with the Croix du Sud lounge already and by the time that I arrived at the gate they were getting ready to start boarding so I decided to skip it.
