Prologue:
This is my last leg of the trip returning from MCO and I was excited to fly on a new airline for me - Westjet.Check in was pretty straightforward and upon arriving at the airport I decided to print my boarding pass. The counters did not look busy but I chose the self serve kiosks since they were relatively empty.
Once at the airport I noticed that in the Priority line DL elites also had access to the line.
I printed my boarding pass quickly.
On to Immigration for US Pre-Clearance.
The Plaza Premium lounge at the US Transborder gates can get pretty crowded during peak times. I was there during the transition from breakfast to lunch.
Breakfast buffet.
Lunch selection was pretty decent. It was certainly better than at US lounges.
Gate was not too crowded and it seems that today's flight was not fully booked. I had an empty seat next to me in row 8 so I can't really complain about this "European J" seating.
Upgrade was available for about CAD 55 or EUR 34. I inquired if there was catering up front and they said that it was only snacks. I passed.
Boarding was quick and orderly. The agents were super friendly and attentive.
Cabin interior.
Inflight literature.
Good enough leg room.
Plugs for charging electronics. The set up was a bit protruding.
Service aboard consisted of beverages and a choice between salty or sweet snack. Pretzel or cookie.
WC
Cabin before landing.
Plane upon arrival at SFO.

Summary:
I was glad to try a new airline and the experience is about the same as the competition.Crew was efficient if not overly friendly. However they seem pretty strict about changing seats and are very vigilant about pax sitting in extra room seats which cost a little more to reserve.
At the gate I asked about switching to an EMER EXIT row and the agent quoted me a rate. However she suggested to check with the crew aboard and upon asking aboard I was advised by the purser that they can no longer switch pax to EMER EXIT seats without having paid.
Overall WS seems like a reliable carrier to get you from point A to B without much else.

Not too shabby, glad to hear.
Gracias Amigo
Hope all is well with you. Not bad indeed. At least they give you snacks with beverages unlike AC but it seems that soon AC will follow Porter and offer snacks as well as wine/beer to everyone in Y traveling between US-Canada.
Thanks for stopping and commenting.
Hey my friend :)
Thanks for your nice report.
Any plan to fly to EU/Asia soon ?
This weekend I will be in LHR, then TLS and finally AMS. ;)
Woof JetSetPanda,
The airport looks empty on your pics...Except for the buffet^^
Catering seems always correct in this lounge. That's a good point.
On board your cabin had already flown a lot.
Thanks Adan for this very interesting report. As usual;)
Where there's food there's always people. :P
YVR airport seems so spacious and that's a good thing.
I really like this lounge's catering. Too bad it has limited space.
Another Great report^^
Hello Adan!
It does the job but without being extraordinary... But the fare for upgrading is just amazing compared to what is required here.
Fortunately the lounge lifts the whole!
Thank you for this nice reports!!
