Prologue:

A pesar de que mi vuelo no estaba programado para salir hasta la 01:00 A, llegué al aeropuerto a mediodía porque una de las personas de mi grupo tenía un vuelo a Australia. y decidimos salir juntos al aeropuerto desde el hotel. Esto me daría la excusa perfecta para hacer algunas compras y familiarizarme con el aeropuerto de HKG. Tuve la oportunidad de visitar las salas de QF, KA y CX (The Bridge & The Pier F), pero principalmente me voy a enfocar en los de QF y CX The Pier.

El Pier es considerado uno de los mejores salones de F del mundo. Al entrar uno es bienvenido a un oasis de tranquilidad que se siente privado y exclusivo. Esta es la forma en que todo salón de F debería ser.

Entrada al corredor.

Quería tomar una ducha y me ofrecieron una de inmediato.

Amplio y bien equipado.

Es hora de ir al comedor para un bocadillo.

Bar.

Menu por Peninsula.

Tuna en pimienta negra con judías blancas pepinos y espinacas.

Pescado Barramundi con cerdo asado champiñones y palitos a base of frijoles soya..

Mousse de castañas con salsa de caramelo.

Despensa.

Sala.

Bar.

The Retreat - cuartos de descanso. Hasta ahora todo sobre este salón era perfecto. Sin embargo al llegar a esta área aquí es donde me encontré con algunos problemas. Comencemos con lo positivo - Mi habitación tenía una vista de la pista y existe el acceso a enchufes para los aparatos electrónicos. Además el colchón era firme y cómodo. Lo negativo: pude sentir una corriente de aire directamente encima de la cama . El use de los cuartos esta limitado a 1.5 hrs. Lo último que quiero hacer cuando voy a estar en mi habitación es preocuparme por mi hora de salida.

The J seat - CX's strong point.

Once at my seat I was given a personal welcome by the purser and the J cabin manager. I have read that CX is consistent in acknowledging Oneworld Emeralds and my experience confirms this. Hot towel pre-dept. drink and amenity kit distributed.

Menu.

CX's catering is a major point of contention among its frequent flyers and its shortcomings have been discussed extensively. As expected my supper service was a bit on the light side especially compared to SQ which flies a similar schedule. The dips appetizer is perhaps the most disappointing aspect of this supper. A friend remarked that this offer can be culturally awkward and I tend to agree with him especially for an Asian carrier. A protein appetizer would be more appropriate in my opinion. Perhaps a shrimp or seafood timbale?

I took a nap and woke up 2-3 hrs later. i then visited the galley for some snack.

Delicious and not overcooked.

Hot towel before breakfast service.

Chinese congee and rice noodles.

Summary:

Un cómodo vuelo nocturno con comidas ligeras. La reducción en los costos se percata dada la calidad de los platos de la cena, especialmente el aperitivo y el postre. Los bocadillos disponibles después de la comida son adecuados y la hamburguesa estaba deliciosa.

El asiento de la clase J es la mejor ventaja de volar CX al igual que su tripulación. Studio CX ofrece una gran variedad de programas y hay algo para todos.los gustos.

Thanks Adan for the lovely TR. The Pier is a fantastic lounge, I remember spending countless hours on many visits on my way back to China. Impressive to get a rare meat for the burger :)

To me this is what a proper club should be like - exclusive, quiet, elegant and discreet. CX does lounges very well whether it is F or J. Thanks.

The lounge is great, even the QF one seems awesome. The flight itself is good even if I'm a little bit disappointed by the catering.

Both lounges are worth spending time over. I must say that the QF one is more inclined to offer "healthier" food. Catering is not CX strong point but hopefully this will improve. Thanks Casper.

Ouaaf Adan !

Nice lounge. The Day-Suites' clock is terrible. There are other ways to relax to wake-up guests^^
In flight, the main course seems light. But the snackburger, available upon request, looks excellent
This seat is beautiful. Do they still have advertisement on their FID ?

Woof Francis!

The suites were the only part of the experience that was not perfect. Maybe this is done on purpose to shorten the guest's stay in them. :P

This flight was designated as "supper" which means a lighter version than dinner. But if SQ can serve a full meal at about the same time I don't see why CX can't. The burger was fantastic and a nice surprise. Maybe they expect pax to fill up on the snacks. I'm not sure if they still have ads. It's been a long time since I flew CX.
